To fix your blinds you will need to take into account the direction the window opens, and to check that window catches will not interfere with the operation. With metal window frames ensure there is a suitable surface onto which you can screw the fixtures.

Recess fixing …….

To fit blind inside the window a minimum recess depth of 7.5cm is required. Check the window recess is square by measuring the width at top and bottom. If there is a difference, take the smaller of the two measurements, more than 2cm a recess Roman Blind is not possible.

There are only 2 measurements required
Length - measure between the top and required finished length.

Width - measure inside the recess, the Blind can be wide enough to cover the whole frame or leave the frame exposed.

Bay windows - There should be a gap in the corners of the bay to accommodate the wooden batons, and facilitate easy movements of blinds.

Face fixing …..

Measure the window itself, and add, if possible, a minimum of 7.5 cm to the length and 12.5cm to the width, to be sure the finished Roman or Austrian Blind cover the window adequately.

Tab top and Slotted through fixing…..

Both Roman and Austrian Blinds can have a Tab Top Heading, our unique Wooden Pole were all components are hidden neatly away behind the fabric are available, please indicate on enquiry for pricing.

For the width, measure between the decorative ends of the pole (pole must be fixed approx 15cm above the window and extended 7.5cm each side) For the length, measure from the top of the curtain pole to where the blind is to finish. Not recommend for recess fixing, but Dorma Windows can look very stylish with either of these window treatments.

Price will include all Blinds components with a standard covered wooden fixing batten, or, should you require the new contract fittings which are also easy to install and uses a chain to raise and lower the blinds please indicate your preference as these fittings are extra.
